"West Ave" |
Afr'Am Fest 2010 was caught by surprise with the dynamic performance by this group of talented young men out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Denedric "Nedric" Mc Cullough, age 17, Chaz Carter, age 18, and Langston "Nells" Morris, age 19, make up the group
“ West Ave”. The performance included their rendition of “Poison” originally by Bell, Biv, DeVoe, Oh My God, by Usher, and two of their original songs titled,
She could be the one, and
Push.
They also performed dance routines to “How low can you go” by Ludacris and “ All the way turnt up” by Roscoe Dash.
Getting their start in church, the guys entertained individually for about 5 years before coming together 2 1/2 years ago to form the group.
A Few of their major upcoming performances include
The Apollo Theatre on June 15th, 2010 and
Baltimore Afr'Am Fest 2010 on June 18th, 2010 where they will be opening for artists such as T Pain, Mario, B.O.B, and Waka Flocka.
We encountered these young men saturday night May 22, 2010 after their performance. One of the young stars was singing quietly as he walked down the hallway of the Sheraton hotel, catching our attention. After complimenting him on his voice, he then told us that they were the performing group from earlier in the day at Afr'Am. All three members came together to give us a sample of
" West Ave." . Along with us was background singer for Lyfe Jennings, Terrell "T Rex" Simon, who in turn phoned Lyfe Jennings who was also in the hotel to tell him about the Trio. By midnight, Lyfe Jennings was also getting to experience "West Ave" in lobby of The Sheraton Hotel.
